Area of Study in Intellectual Property
Gain experience in intellectual property through robust academic coursework and participation in the school’s Intellectual Property Clinic, which is certified for trademark practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. In this area of study, you will explore the foundations of intellectual property law, including copyrights, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, and name-image-and-likeness (NIL) rights. You will learn how intellectual property rights are obtained and enforced, as well as the legal processes used to resolve intellectual property disputes.
To receive an Area of Study in Intellectual Property Law, you must complete each of the following courses with a grade of B− or higher, or a grade of “pass” for those that are pass/fail.

You must also participate in the Intellectual Property Clinic and receive a passing grade in the following courses:
- Intellectual Property Law Clinic (LAW 662)
