Non-Licensure

The Doctor of Education program prepares candidates to be competent, effective leaders with a Christian worldview who will model high standards and assume a leadership role in the field of education. This doctoral degree provides advanced training in applied research methods, with a focus on how to use data and research to determine how well a school’s educational process aligns with best practices in higher education, complies with the requirements set by accrediting agencies, and helps students thrive.

This is a non-licensure program.


Requirements

  • General Information
  • Capstone Information
    • All non-capstone coursework must be completed before starting EDUC 880.
    • Starting with EDUC 880, candidates must continuously enroll in capstone coursework until the final defense. Candidates who break enrollment will be required to re-apply.
    • Ed.D. students are allowed to enroll in EDUC 887, 888, 889 a maximum of two times. Extensions for exceptional circumstances must be approved by the School of Education.
    • Enrollment in EDUC 890 is contingent on School of Education approval.

The purpose of the School of Education is to develop Christ-centered educators and leaders through rigorous, biblically-based instruction and practical training.

Licensure Information

This program does not lead to state licensure or certification. Candidates in this program are not eligible to pursue a student teaching or internship semester.


Transfer Credit

View the doctoral transfer policies. Capstone courses are not eligible to be transferred.
