Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration – Student Affairs

Non-Licensure

The School of Education through Liberty University Online offers several programs at the post-graduate level. The Doctor of Education program prepares candidates to be competent, effective leaders with a Christian worldview who will model high standards and assume a leadership role in the field of education. This doctoral degree provides advanced training in applied research methods and practical management skills, with the goal of helping students become leaders in postsecondary education administration. Throughout this program, students will learn skills such as effective leadership, policy development, program development, and best practices in supporting student achievement. This doctoral degree provides advanced training in current issues and trends as well as legal issues in student affairs. Students will learn how to address various challenges facing today’s higher education leaders, including social, political, and economic factors.

  • Capstone Information
    • All non-capstone coursework must be completed before starting EDUC 880.
    • Starting with EDUC 880, candidates must continuously enroll in capstone coursework until the final defense. Candidates who break enrollment will be required to re-apply.
    • Ed.D. students are allowed to enroll in EDUC 887, 888, 889 a maximum of two times. Extensions for exceptional circumstances must be approved by the School of Education.
    • Enrollment in EDUC 890 is contingent on School of Education approval.

Licensure Information

This program does not lead to state licensure or certification. Candidates in this program are not eligible to pursue a student teaching or internship semester.
