Program Expectations & Advising Resources for the Ed.D. in Higher Education Administration – Organizational Leadership

Non-Licensure

The Doctor of Education program prepares candidates to be competent, effective leaders with a Christian worldview who will model high standards and assume a leadership role in the field of education. This doctoral degree provides advanced training in applied research methods and practical management skills, with the goal of helping students become a leaders in postsecondary education administration. In addition to studying core aspects of higher education administration, students will complete several advanced business courses. With this knowledge, future leaders can prepare to foster a productive learning environment that allows students and faculty to thrive.

This is a non-licensure program.

  • Capstone Information
    • All non-capstone coursework must be completed before starting EDUC 880.
    • Starting with EDUC 880, candidates must continuously enroll in capstone coursework until the final defense. Candidates who break enrollment will be required to re-apply.
    • Ed.D. students are allowed to enroll in EDUC 887, 888, 889 a maximum of two times. Extensions for exceptional circumstances must be approved by the School of Education.
    • Enrollment in EDUC 890 is contingent on School of Education approval.

Licensure Information

This program does not lead to state licensure or certification. Candidates in this program are not eligible to pursue a student teaching or internship semester.


Transfer Credit

View the doctoral transfer policies. Capstone courses are not eligible to be transferred.
