Beverly C. Reid

Early in her academic career Bev found a love of people and their stories, in particular, their career stories. Each person’s story was varied and constantly expanding, and sometimes they found that they needed some coaching and connections along the way. Bev knew she wanted to be the person to help them find their calling and reach their goals. For the past 25 years Bev has been able to not only help students, but be surrounded by wonderful staff who have these same values and lead those staff members to reach their own goals as well as the goals of their university. Now as the Director of Career Services, Bev brings a strong career background to a very gifted staff.

Biography
Bev received her undergraduate degree in Psychology and her Master of Education in Counseling from James Madison University before working full time at the University of Virginia while working towards an Education Specialist degree in Counselor Education, Higher Education Administration. From there she went on to work at William and Mary and Virginia Wesleyan University in addition to several grant programs as well as Wittenberg University in Ohio. In June of 2000 she became the Director of Career Development at Lynchburg College, and later the Executive Director of Career Development at the University of Lynchburg. Beverly and her husband Bruce raised their three amazing daughters on their farm in Campbell County, and are long time members of New Concord Presbyterian Church.
