Important Delivery Notes

  • Liberty Postal Services and the Student Mail Center process all mail and packages within 24 hours of their arrival on campus.
  • If Amazon or another company notifies you that your package has been delivered, please wait for the Package Notification email from Liberty, as your package may not have physically arrived on campus yet.
  • Liberty Postal Services and the Student Mail Center are UNABLE to accept grocery or food deliveries. If students have a delivery to campus from any food or grocery delivery service, the delivery should be delivered to their physical dorm location on campus and coordinated directly with the delivery service. Using your campus mailing address is prohibited as we are unable to accept them at our postal facilities.

Package Information

Arrivals

Packages arrive to this facility up to three different times a day depending on many variables. Here is a schedule below.

Monday-Friday: 8 a.m., 11 a.m., and 3 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: No Packages are received or shipped by the university.

Be advised: Packages and letter mail are held for two weeks. After the two week mark is met, all items not picked up are returned to the sender. This policy may be deactivated during university break times.

Processing

We receive several thousand pieces of letter mail and packages that require sorting/processing for the students we serve daily.

Our standard is to have all items processed within 24 hours of arrival at the Student Mail Center.

If your tracking information or the company your item is coming from (such as Amazon) notifies you that your package has been delivered, it may have arrived at the Lynchburg Post Office but has not yet arrived at Liberty’s campus.  The Lynchburg Post Office will often mark items delivered as they are processed to be delivered to campus.

You will receive an email notification once any letter mail or packages have arrived and are ready for pickup.

Pickup

  • You will receive an email notifying that you have a package/letter available to be picked up at the Student Mail Center.
  • When you come to pick your item up, you MUST have either one of two things: Your Flames Pass or a valid Photo ID. If you do not have either one of those, you WILL NOT be able to pick up your package/letter.
  • Parents or other family members are not able to pickup packages/letters for the student. We can ONLY make an exception under certain circumstances.
  • As a courtesy to those around you and those working, please do not use cellular telephones while picking up a package/letter.

Be advised: Packages and letter mail are held for two weeks. After the two week mark is met, all items are returned to the sender. This policy may be deactivated during university break times.

Drop Off

  • If you have a prepaid label, you can bring your package to any available station. We can provide an email confirmation if so desired.
  • If you have stamped letter mail, feel free to drop it off with the next available Postal Specialist at any station.

Off-Campus Student Mail Policy

If you have moved off-campus, you may NOT continue to have your mail/packages sent to the Liberty University campus.

Once a student moves off campus, the previous address assigned to the student is reassigned. When a package arrives for an individual that is not a residential student or is not in our inventory system, it goes on the list of unclaimed packages.

It’s our policy to keep unclaimed packages for two weeks. This two week policy is for packages that were mistakenly sent to Liberty after a student has moved off campus and not intended to be used as a regular service. After the two week mark, the packages are returned to the sender. Off-campus students will NOT receive email alerts as they are no longer registered in our system as residential students.

Contact our office if you have any questions.
