Residential Program

Gain hands-on experience while preparing for a career in audio production at Liberty University. With your Bachelor of Science in Digital Media: Audio concentration, you’ll learn how to plan, coordinate, direct and produce various audio content for a myriad of distribution formats, including podcasting, radio, and live broadcast. Other classes and opportunities will propel you into the essentials of live sound, music recording, special effects, and foley.

Beyond the classroom, audio students in Digital Media can learn by doing with 90.9 The Light (WQLU), a Christian music station located right here on campus. Reaching a potential audience of 200,000 listeners with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, 90.9 The Light’s mission is to train the next generation of broadcasters. Here,  you’ll learn the day-to-day operations of a radio station while training for live broadcasting and behind the scenes work.

Train on industry-standard audio equipment and software with opportunities in news, sports, music, production, radio drama, and more.

Learn How To:

  • Utilize current digital media equipment to create broadcast quality sounds for productions.
  • Develop sound, sound effects and sound design for effective storytelling.
  • Evaluate audio elements of digital media productions.
