Have a positive attitude! Improving your attitude will help you perform better on assignments.
Replace negative self-talk with positive “I can” messages.
Attend every class meeting.
Watch the videos and read the book before attempting the homework.
Take notes and be organized. Note-taking is helpful in case you need to look back at your past work.
Start your homework as soon as possible so you will have time to ask questions and practice. Do not wait until the due date to complete your assignments.
Math must be practiced continually in order to effectively learn it. Practice, practice, practice! Use the Similar Exercise button to get a new problem to practice.
Ask questions! Never be ashamed or embarrassed to ask questions. The answer may be simple or quite complex. Either way, our faculty and tutors are always happy to help.
Attend optional lectures and test review sessions.
Double-check your work before submitting answers, especially on tests! It is easy to mistype an answer.
Review your quizzes to learn from your mistakes. Ask a tutor for help on any concepts you do not understand before attempting the quiz a second or third time.
Choose the appropriate balance of technology and human interaction that works for you.
Decide that you will not work merely to pass the course but rather to excel.
Recognize that you have control over how well you will do in the course and decide that you will make an honest effort to do well.
