Biography
Mrs. Simmons came to the Interdisciplinary Studies department as Senior Professional Advisor with multiple years of advising experience. She also teaches the INDS 491 capstone course and enjoys creating an educational environment that encourages curiosity and personal investment in the INDS degree. Her research interests are in interdisciplinary studies, advising in higher education, and advanced-status student retention. She also serves as the Managing Editor for NEXUS: The Liberty Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies.
Prior to coming to Liberty, Deb homeschooled her children through many cross-country moves while her husband was serving in the US Air Force. She enjoys spending time with her family, watching sports and movies, reading, and thrift shopping with her girls.
