This minor can help strengthen your critical thinking and deepen your understanding of the challenges military members face, from individual service members to the commanding general.

The Military History minor gives you the opportunity to study military leadership and the experiences of soldiers, sailors, and airmen throughout history. You’ll explore the broad experiences of the U.S. military but also dive deeper into the major wars.

Our history professors include published authors in American and European military history as well as subject matter experts for the U.S. Navy. They are grounded in their faith, providing you with valuable insights as experienced scholars and professionals.

Beyond the classroom, you’ll benefit from Liberty’s location in Central Virginia, with historic sites nearby such as the Appomattox Court House National Historical Park, the National D-Day Memorial, and Guilford Courthouse National Military Park all within easy driving distance.

This minor is offered through the Department of Humanities and is open to students in any major.
