Commuter Community Group Leader

Applying as a Commuter Community Group Leader (CGL)
Commuter CGLs work directly with a Commuter Shepherd to help engage and minister to students off campus. Our goal for this position is to better serve our commuter students by providing them with community groups, centered on the content given weekly at Campus Community.

- Mature and growing disciple of Jesus, well-grounded in Scripture.
- Solid reputation, living a life above reproach.
- Able to articulate and communicate the gospel effectively.
- Active member of the local church, and/or under the watch-care of a local church in the Lynchburg area.
- Genuine love for people with demonstrated relational skills.
- Ability to both challenge and encourage others in their walk with the Lord.
- Humble demeanor and teachable spirit.
- Consistent and reliable.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Committed to the purpose of the Commuter CGL Ministry reflecting the vision, values, and mission of The Office of Spiritual Development and LU Shepherd.
- Must maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA or above each semester.
- Cannot obtain more than 12 Liberty Way points during any given semester. Past discipline records may be considered during the application as well.
- Applicants in certain academic programs that could pose a significant challenge to fulfilling CGL responsibilities will be evaluated more closely. Must be able to attend a CGL Connect once a week.
- Must be able to attend Camus Community.
- The CGL schedule during the academic year has certain blackout days that Commuter CGL’s are required to be on campus. These include abut are not limited to Orientation Trainings, and other events directed or promoted by the Office of Spiritual Development or LU Shepherd.
