Community Group Leaders

Community Group Leader

The Community Group Leader (CGL) ministry provides both residential and commuter students a rare opportunity to serve on the “front-line” of ministry across Liberty University as small group spiritual leaders. On Wednesday evenings throughout the semester, Liberty students gather as a large group in Campus Community where they learn biblical teaching from Pastor Jonathan Falwell, Pastor Josh Rutledge, and others. Afterward, students meet in community groups where they move out of the rows of Campus Community and into small circles going deeper in discussing how the teaching applies to our individual lives. The Office of LU Shepherd trains and equips CGLs in prayer and the affective dynamics of a successful community group.

Community Group Leaders work with Resident Shepherds on their hall to develop strong relationships, pray, and foster a community of Christ-centered discipleship among the students in their group. Serving as a CGL at Liberty is an incredible opportunity to serve the Lord and develop as a spiritual leader.

Commuter Community Groups are led by Commuter Shepherds. These groups are centered around Campus Community and are designed to give commuters similar spiritual connectivity as residential students living on campus.
