Community Group Leaders

The Community Group Leader (CGL) ministry provides both residential and commuter students a rare opportunity to serve on the “front-line” of ministry across Liberty University as small group spiritual leaders. On Wednesday evenings throughout the semester, Liberty students gather as a large group in Campus Community where they learn biblical teaching from our campus pastor, David Nasser. Afterward, students meet in community groups where they move out of the rows of Campus Community and into small circles going deeper in discussing how the teaching applies to our individual lives. The Office of LU Shepherd trains and equips CGLs in prayer and effective dynamics of a successful community group.

In addition, Community Group Leaders are led by Resident Shepherds on their hall to develop strong relationships, pray, and foster a community of Christ-centered discipleship among the students in their group.  Serving as a CGL at Liberty University is an incredible opportunity to serve the Lord, serve your fellow students, and to develop as a spiritual leader.

Become a Community Group Leader

Are you a student who loves God, loves people, and loves living life on mission? Then read on, because we are building our CGL team for the 2019-2020 year. This is a team of students who value a gospel-centered community and living on mission with Jesus. Becoming a CGL is an opportunity both to be invested in as a leader as well as an opportunity to serve and minister to other students on or off campus. There will be an interest meeting on the ministry, expectations, and application process on March 5, 2019. For more interest in the meeting please contact the LU Shepherd Office.
