Welcome to LU Shepherd
LU Shepherd develops Champions for Christ by guiding students along a spiritual development pathway marked by worship, scripture, prayer, community, and service with the end goal of forming resilient disciples who exalt Jesus through biblical living, authentic community, and servant leadership.
Our office is led by a staff of dedicated professionals with a variety of ministerial backgrounds ranging from collegiate to church, to missions.
The LU Shepherd team is passionate about training Resident Shepherds and Community Group Leaders to grow in Christ, who in turn, unite with our mission by investing in the spiritual growth of the student in their residences.

LU Shepherds are visible across campus, focused on building relationships with students through casual conversations and more in-depth encounters.
Student Opportunities
Student Shepherds
As a student shepherd you’ll receive distinctive mentorship, training, and coaching to guide you in your role as a spiritual leader to your peers.
- Resident Shepherds work alongside a team of Community Group Leaders to build meaningful relationships and create a healthy hall community.
- Commuter Shepherds oversee an Off-Campus Community Group that meets regularly for faith-driven discussion and spiritual development.
- Graduate students can serve as Athletic Shepherds, engaging with LU coaches and athletes.
Community Groups
There is no greater setting for the development of meaningful relationships, accountability, and discipleship than community groups.
- Dive deeper into the biblical teachings from Campus Community through discussion time and prayer with your Community Group.
- Connect with other commuter students by joining an Off-Campus Community Group.
- Serve and minister to other students by becoming a Community Group Leader (CGL).
