Liberty students to travel around the globe over Spring Break

From assisting in hurricane relief in North Carolina to serving orphans in Kenya, Liberty University students are using their 2025 Spring Break to impact communities around the globe for the Gospel. This year, 336 LU students are preparing to embark on one of 14 domestic and international school-sponsored trips.

A team from the Global Studies Department traveled to Eastern Europe for Spring Break 2024.

These trips, facilitated through the LU Send Office, offer students the chance to serve local communities, experience immersion in foreign cultures, further their academic knowledge, and more, while also earning course credit on select trips. This year’s trips cover a variety of academic disciplines and will span 14 countries across four continents.

Whether the trip is for academic credit or CSER, LU Send’s tailored programs are designed to help equip students to become Champions for Christ by providing opportunities for them to experience their faith and education in action as they explore God’s beautiful world alongside their Liberty professors and classmates. Students have once-in-a-lifetime experiences that cultivate lifelong friendships, all while increasing their global awareness and engagement all over the world.

One of these trips, sponsored by the LU Serve Now program, will send students to Boone, N.C., to assist Samaritan’s Purse in rebuild efforts following Hurricane Helene. This disaster relief trip, taking place March 9-15, marks Liberty’s eighth to communities affected by Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

Students in Liberty’s Department of Theatre Arts will serve communities in the United Kingdom by presenting dramas and training local leaders in drama ministries. They will also engage vulnerable communities in the area, demonstrating how they can use drama to share their testimonies with others.

On a trip sponsored by the John W. Rawlings School of Divinity to Jordan and Egypt, students will visit historical sites like Jerash, Madaba, Bethany, the great Pyramids of Giza, Mt. Sinai, and more, as well as swim in the Dead Sea. The School of Divinity will also send another team to Italy to visit several cities crucial to the development of the Christian church.

Students traveling to Kenya with the School of Nursing March 6-17 will serve orphans at a local children’s home as well as fellowship with villagers in the area. The Global Studies Department will likewise send a group to Kenya to help engage local youth in outdoor adventure camps and leadership development.

The Department of Psychology’s trip to Spain offers students the chance to discover the intricate balance between individual well-being and the powerful impact of communal bonds on mental health.

A few weeks after these trips, the Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine will send a team of faculty members and students to El Salvador March 22-29 during its spring break. While there, the group will serve with the Shalom Family Medical Center to provide mobile medical clinics to areas with limited medical care.
