Biography

Robert Mullen serves as Associate Dean for External Relations and as a member of the law school’s senior leadership team, overseeing the Center for Career and Professional Development, the Office of Public Affairs, Alumni Relations, and Development. 

Dean Mullen began his professional career in private practice where he represented and counseled clients in commercial litigation, employment law, non-profit law, private school law, and insurance coverage litigation.  His firm served as counsel to the Association of Christian Schools International and its over 5,000 membered Christian schools, advising on a wide range of matters including education and employment law.  Mullen is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He is admitted to the bar of the Supreme Court of Virginia, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the United States Bankruptcy Court. Before coming to Liberty University School of Law, Dean Mullen served in various capacities in higher education, pastoral ministry, and the nonprofit world. 

Dean Mullen is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law where he was Notes Editor for the Virginia Tax Review. He also holds an M.Div. in Languages from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and a B.S. from Liberty University in Finance and Political Science.

Robert and his wife, Anne, have two grown children and two granddaughters. In his free time, Robert enjoys spending time with his family, reading biographies, and playing golf.
