Maverick Edwards
Assistant Director of Debate
Maverick is a seasoned debate coach and competitor with over a decade of experience in the field. While 2024 marks his first year at Liberty University, he has a proven track record of coaching high school and collegiate students across various debate formats, including Public Forum, Lincoln-Douglas, and Policy Debate. Maverick is particularly passionate about working with second-year debaters, a crucial stage when students refine their argumentation skills and develop their unique debating style.
This year, Maverick has successfully guided multiple JV and Varsity teams through preliminary and elimination rounds, with his students claiming victory in the JV divisions at tournaments such as George Mason University, Houston, and Kentucky. Maverick holds a Bachelor’s degree in Government: Politics and Policy from Liberty University (2020) and recently completed his Juris Doctor at the University of Kansas in Spring 2024
