An Exploratory Study on Hope: Development and Initial Validation of a Six-Factor Hope Scale (PSYC 101 Students)
Hope is a complex phenomenon that has been conceptualized in various ways by numerous disciplines. Although hope is considered a fundamental psychological need and a central component of human flourishing, there is no clear consensus on its definition or measurement. The purpose of this study is to better understand hope and the factors influencing it. By measuring hope levels across multiple dimensions, this study seeks to identify the key factors shaping experiences of hope.
To participate, you must be 18 years old or older and currently enrolled in PSYC 101 at Liberty University.
Participants will be asked to take an online survey including demographic questions, the Power of Hope Scale, and the Adult Hope Scale. It should take approximately 15 minutes to complete the entire study.
The study is completely anonymous, so no personal, identifying information will be collected.
