Dr. Welsh has worked in community mental health centers and psychiatric hospitals and founded the non-profit 316 Counseling Center in 2010. In 1995, Dr. Welsh developed the Needs-Connection Model™, prompted by her passion for helping parents, pastors, teachers, and therapists understand how to connect with God and others.

Prior to joining Liberty University, Dr. Welsh lived in Texas, running 316 Counseling Center, training therapists and interns to work with children, adolescents, and families. She loves inspiring students to find exactly what God has called them to do.
