Biography

Dr. Danna Demezier is an Assistant Professor at Liberty University. Before working in academia, Dr. Demezier worked as a professional counselor in community mental health and has served in this capacity for more than 16 years. Her professional work experience includes that of a Counselor Educator, Clinical Supervisor, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and Developmental Specialist. Dr. Demezier is committed to working with underserved populations, specifically immigrant groups, and bridging the mental health gap in these communities. Her interests include culturally responsive interventions for diverse ethnic populations to improve mental health utilization and culturally responsive supervision in counselors and counselors-in-training. Dr. Demezier has given many presentations in her areas of interest and is a 2021 National Board of Certified Counselor Doctoral Minority Fellow. She enjoys presenting, mentoring future pioneers and world changers, trying new recipes, and using her God-given talents to spread the love of Christ.
