Biography
Dr. Charity Anne Kurz is a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC) and a licensed school counselor (LSC) in the state of Ohio. Additionally, she is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas, and a national certified counselor (NCC). Dr. Kurz earned her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from the Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Kurz has served as a special education teacher and school counselor in various school districts. Additionally, she has worked as a career counselor, college counselor, and currently, as a counselor in private practice.
She uses a combination of CBT, DBT, and narrative approaches, as well as developmental frameworks to help clients make meaning of their stories. She uses her expertise in human development, counseling and helping relationships, neurodiversity, and wellness to help schools, businesses, and churches meet the needs of the individuals they serve.
Her research interests include transitioning students with disabilities to post-secondary options, career development, counseling children and adolescents, assessment, global mental health, as well as best practices for online education.
