Our mission is to promote scholarship, research, professionalism, leadership, advocacy, and excellence in counseling, and to recognize high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the profession of counseling.

About CSI-Rho Eta Online Student Chapters

Rho Eta is the Liberty University Student Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) International Counseling Honor Society. Our regional chapters for online students have active members including current students, alumni, and faculty. We focus on promoting excellence in the profession of counseling and hope to get members more involved in professional development, community engagement, wellness, and human dignity.

Students in CACREP programs at Liberty University are reviewed annually for membership eligibility. As this review process is initiated by the university, students do not need to apply. Membership in Chi Sigma Iota, as specified in the CSI Bylaws, is only by chapter invitation and only to students and graduates of the chapter’s CACREP-accredited counselor education program(s) who meet the membership eligibility criteria specified in the Society’s bylaws.

Membership Requirements

• Completed at least one semester of full-time graduate coursework in a counselor education degree program (an equivalent of 9 credits in a master’s program or 3 credits in a doctoral program)
• Grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 system
• Be recommended and endorsed for membership by the chapter, including promise for a capacity to represent the best about professional counseling through appropriate professional behavior, ethical judgment, emotional maturity, and attitudes conducive to working to advocate for wellness and human dignity for all
