Biography
Dr. Mears is a licensed professional counselor with supervisory designation [LPC-S] in Virginia and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania. He has previously held licenses in Texas and Tennessee. Dr. Mears has been in the mental health field since 2003 and taught residentially as well as online since 2007 at Liberty University, King College, and Crown University.
Dr. Mears is an existential therapist who approaches clients from a person-centered perspective, often utilizing CBT techniques and interventions. In addition to pursuing a relationship with his Creator, his other areas of interest include integration, deconstruction, and neuroscience, particularly consciousness.
He and his wife have two adult sons and one Boston Terrier who thinks the world revolves around him. In his spare time, Dr. Mears enjoys camping, kayaking, fishing, reading, and working around the house.
