Biography

Dr. Samantha Culbertson served in K-12 public education for most of her career, where she held various leadership and supervisory roles. She later established her private counseling practice and is passionate for helping clients navigate life’s challenges. Her overarching approach is existential in nature, helping clients identify their purpose and hope, while utilizing a strength-based and cognitive approach toward goal achievement.

Prior to joining the Liberty University faculty, she served as an adjunct professor, where her enthusiasm for developing the next generation of counselors was ignited. Her teaching background coupled with her experiential knowledge was the perfect pairing of the continuation of her life’s mission. She’s also had the privilege of providing professional development at Texas Counseling Conferences.

She is the proud wife of a first responder and a mom of two precious adult daughters who are the highlight of her life. She is delighted to share her joy and walks with three pups, two black labs, Bear, Maverick, and a tiny Cavapoo, Biscuit!

Above all, she is a humble servant of Jesus and aims for every interaction and opportunity she has in the classroom and beyond to reflect His love and light. Her favorite verse guides her daily, Matthew 5:16 (NIV) “In the same way, let your light so shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven.”
