Biography
Dr. Roberts served public education as a mental health Administrator for 17 years prior to joining Liberty University in 2013 as an adjunct professor and most recently as Core Faculty within the Department of Counselor Education and Family Studies.
Appointed by the Texas Education Agency to serve on the HB906 School Mental Health Task force, Dr. Roberts has been involved in projects that help inform legislation regarding school mental health supports for students. Dr. Roberts has presented at the international, national, state and local levels advocating for school communities to embrace the whole child when it comes to child and adolescent mental health. In 2023 Dr. Roberts was recognized by the Lone Star State School Counseling Association (ASCA affiliate) as the Texas School Counselor Supervisor of the Year. Dr. Roberts’ primary area of interest is that of childhood and adolescent trauma, utilizing experiential and somatic response therapies.
Involved in her community, Dr. Roberts serves on the Texas Southern University’s College of Education Counselor Education Advisory Board, the Fort Bend County Child Advocates Advisory Council, and a founding member of the Fort Bend County TBRI Collaborative Council.
