Are there different tracks?
We have one 36 hour degree with a thesis option built into the program hours.
Are there different areas of emphasis?
European history and American history.
Is there a foreign language requirement?
Students who wish to write a European thesis, (other than British), will need to demonstrate a reading proficiency in the related foreign language.
Is there a GPA requirement?
3.0 Undergraduate GPA; 2.50 through 2.99 admitted on caution.
What are the Prerequisites?
18 hours undergraduate course work in History or a related discipline
How many graduate hours can I transfer?
A maximum of 50% of the program hours may be transferred if approved and allowable, including credit from an earned degree from Liberty University on the same academic level

Graduate Student Assistantships
Our GSA program is highly competitive. Strong candidates possess exceptional written communication skills and an outstanding academic record. The application deadline is February 1 for appointments for the following academic year. Email history@liberty.edu to receive a link to our direct GSA application on the Human Resources website. GSA appointments provide a tuition waiver and stipend.
