Biography

Dr. Travis H. Bradshaw is the Department Chair of the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies, Director of Geographic Studies, and Professor of Geography and Grant Writing. He is a human geographer and sociologist, with specializations in economic geography, transportation geography, demographics, and survey design. He has served as a professor since 1997. He has taught for the University of Florida, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, and LUO. He is a prolific researcher and writer having led over 200 research studies, winning over $90 million in government grants for his firm, $450 million in grants for his clients, and guiding over 80 doctoral students through the dissertation process. His religious work has centered on church growth and demographic survey analysis, with clients including the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Barna Research, and the North American Mission Board. His non-profit work has centered on promoting carpooling, vanpooling, transit, alternative fueled vehicles, and working from home. He has served as an editor for the National Academy of Sciences, spoken for the Federal Transit Administration, and presented to DOTs and planning associations throughout the US. In his free time, he enjoys participating in his family’s logging business and practicing martial arts, where he holds a Taekwondo black belt under 5x world champion and US Olympic Trainer Seung-Tae Chin and a membership in the American Freestyle Karate Association Hall of Fame.
