Lieutenant Colonel Jeremiah Gilmore
Biography
Lieutenant Colonel Jeremiah Gilmore is the Professor of Aerospace Studies and Commander of Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 890’s Operating Location at Liberty University. In this role, Lieutenant Colonel Gilmore serves as the senior Air Force officer for the detachment at Liberty University, instructs aerospace studies and leadership courses, supervises cadre and staff, and is responsible for the training, development, and mentorship of cadets preparing to commission as officers in the United States Air Force and Space Force. Lt Col Gilmore completed ROTC at the University of Georgia in 2006 and earned his wings as an Electronic Warfare Officer in 2008. He has served multiple operational tours as a mission commander in the RC-135S Cobra Ball, supporting intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations. He also served as an instructor in the Combat Systems Officer Formal Training Unit, where he led the evaluation and unit assessment programs for more than 180 active-duty aircrew assigned to the 479th Flying Training Group.
Additionally, Lt Col Gilmore completed a tour at Air Combat Command Headquarters as the lead for ISR Programs, where he oversaw several advanced capability development initiatives. A senior aircrew member, he has accumulated more than 2,000 flying hours in the T-1A and RC-135S Cobra Ball, including multiple ISR sorties over combat airspace.
