Biography
Dr. Chelsea Milks currently serves as an Assistant Professor and Director of Event Planning and Professional and Creative Industries. She is the faculty advisor for the residential and online FACS programs.
Dr. Milks began teaching in higher education at the business department at Brightpoint Community College (formerly known as John Tyler Community College) in Chester and Midlothian, Virginia. She has taught at Bellevue University online programs. She has a background in instructional design at Brightpoint Community College, iDesign, Emeritus, and Quality Matters. She has been a Master Reviewer and Peer Reviewer for Quality Matters since 2016 where she reviews courses at universities globally and nationwide.
Prior to teaching, Dr. Milks began her career as an event coordinator at non-profit and corporate organizations. She was a visual designer for retail stores, including franchises and a local florist. She has experience in wedding planning, catering, design, vendor markets, and other creative industries. She launched the Liberty Bridal Expo in 2022 and the Maker’s Market in fall of 2023.
Most importantly, Dr. Milks is married to Brandon Milks and has 3 children. They met during their undergraduate studies at Liberty University while being part of student leadership. Together they’ve served in church ministry, specifically in children, student and college ministries. Their family enjoys a good theme park and time together.
