Employee Giving FAQ

Why is employee giving so important?

Employees who donate provide necessary funds for vital programs they care about at Liberty.  This is also an opportunity for our faculty and staff to show alumni, donors, friends, corporations and foundations that this is an institution that we believe in and support.

How will the donations I give be used?

That is totally up to you.  You can specify which program you would like to give to or more than one program, if you prefer.  You can use payroll deduction to pay your pledge to The Journey or to the Flames Club.  You can support any of our schools, colleges or scholarships.

Is there a minimum amount that I can give?

We are looking for faculty and staff participation in this campaign.  Your gift, regardless of the size, (even $1 per pay period), will go a long ways when combined with your other co-workers’ donations.

Who will know about my gift?

The amount of your donation will not be disclosed publicly –ever.  The only exception is if you give enough to qualify for our President’s Circle ($1,000 or more in any calendar year), your name will be listed in the President’s Circle (under giving level categories only – no specific amounts) in both the Journal and online.  For gifts of any amount, your name will be listed among donors on our Employee Giving website, unless you notify us that you do not want your name listed.

If I give a one-time donation, will this count towards my participation within my department?

Yes.  Regardless of what method you choose for giving your donation, (check, debit/credit card one-time or recurring donation, payroll deduction or cash) your gift will count towards your participation within your department.

How is my department’s participation measured?

A gift of any amount from any full or part-time faculty or staff member is counted towards your department’s participation.  Adjunct professors, temporary employees and student workers can also participate in this program and are encouraged to do so.  We will recognize them as well, when giving totals given from our total university employees.

Why can’t Adjunct Faculty participate in payroll deduction?

Because their pay periods vary throughout the year we are unable to set this up.
