Marching Band Schedule

Prospective Students–you can start your band member application for the marching band now! We’d love to hear from you and are ready to answer any questions at band@liberty.edu. Go Flames!!

March / April:

March 1: Percussion Audition Material posted in our auditions section.

April 6: Percussion, Guard audition videos submitted by 11:59 pm.

May:

May 25: $115.00 band camp fee due. This payment secures your position in the show drill and includes you in the drill writing process. We may have room for you if you are interested in applying after May 25, but please email band@liberty.edu. We often have openings that come up over the summer!

August

August 9-15: Percussion and Color Guard Move-in, Orientation, Camp.

August 12-14: Band Leadership Meetings (TBD)

August 15: Full Band Camp Move-in (Brass & Woodwinds), Freshmen Band Member & Family Orientation, Full Band Check-in, Wind Part Auditions

August 15-22: Full Band Camp

August 22: Friends & Family Preview performance (8:30-9:30 pm; Williams Stadium)

August 24: First Day of Classes

September

September 5: Away Football Game vs JMU (the band will travel to this game in Harrisonburg, VA)

September 12: Home Football vs. Gardner Webb (halftime to WEST side)

September 19: Home Football vs. Ball State (halftime to EAST side)

October

CUSA Conference Games (TBA)

November

CUSA Conference Games (TBA)

December TBA: (hold open for CUSA Conference Championship Game)
If home, Band performs halftime to the West Stands, if away, the SOTM band will travel to this.

* Additional required travel to Playoff and/or Bowl Game. Any dates (usually 3-5 days) between Dec. 12, 2026 and January 2, 2027

~Band Parents Day info for [TBA] will be available by the end of June. Students will each receive a link for a special football ticket offer to share with parents.

Due to security protocols, game-day stadium rehearsals are generally not open to the public. Members are required to attend all practices, performances, exhibitions, and post-season travel.

The SOTM rehearses MWF from 3:15 to 5:20. All MWF practices are open to the public. If you are a prospective student, please reach out to band@liberty.edu.


See the band warm-up prior to Kick-off! The band performs a pre-game warm-up at the Flames Fan Fest area near the stadium. All are welcome! Tickets not required to see our warmup, but you will need football tickets to see the pre-game show 20 minutes before halftime.
