Students enrolled in the School of Behavioral Sciences (SBS) Advanced Licensure M.Ed. in School Counseling program must complete the School Counseling PRAXIS 5421/5422 exam or a state-approved alternate exam for licensure with score reports collected and reviewed in collaboration with the School of Education (SOE) for Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) licensure, CACREP and CAEP accreditation, and program evaluation purposes.

Students completing the Doctor of Nursing Practice: Family Nurse Practitioner, Doctor of Nursing Practice: Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Post-BSN and Post-MSN), and the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Graduate Certificate programs must complete a national certification examination to apply for Advanced Practice Nursing Licensure in most of the United States.
