Endowments & Annual Scholarships

1. Contact the Office of Development to inquire about arrangements that best suit your financial and charitable goals.

2. Determine how the annual distributions from the endowment will be expended (scholarships, programs, capital, etc.).

3. Once the specifications have been determined, a draft gift agreement will be prepared for review and execution. This agreement will outline how Liberty University will administer the funds.

4. Each endowment is accounted for separately in a pooled fund, providing maximum returns. Once the endowment is fully funded, it takes approximately one year before any distribution will be taken (to allow for earnings).

Stage 1: The donor contributes a gift of $50,000+

Stage 2: Three percent of the growth funds the annual scholarship, professorship, or other endowed area.

Stage 3: Excess growth is reinvested back into the endowment.

Stage 4: Financial aid assists in selecting eligible candidates.
