Champion’s Choice: Our Pics for Football Versus Ole Miss

Liberty plays Ole Miss in Oxford, Mississippi Nov. 6. Currently, the Ole Miss Rebels are ranked No. 15 in the country. Quarterback Matt Corral has a shot at the Heisman trophy. He and Liberty quarterback Malik Willis are projected to go high in the draft if they both declare, and they could possibly be the first two quarterbacks taken.
Currently, Ole Miss is favored by 10.
Luke Randle (7-2)
The Flames finally did what they were supposed to do and put a beatdown on UMass; however, UMass is one of the worst teams in the FBS. Ole Miss is ranked in the top 15 in the country, and its roster consists of top-tier talent including the likes of Matt Coral, the only quarterback I could see going higher than Willis in the draft. I want to pick Liberty, but our offensive line is not good enough. Our skill positions will do well, but we will lose this game in the trenches.

Liberty has handled business the last two weeks, but it will be facing its toughest challenge yet in Ole Miss. Despite being capable of keeping the game close, the Flames do not have the defensive prowess or offensive weapons to beat Ole Miss.

This game is going to be lost in the trenches for Liberty. After the North Texas game, I do not think Liberty’s offensive line is good enough to keep up with an SEC team. All that being said, I would love to be wrong.

If Ole Miss’ quarterback is healthy this weekend, Liberty will have an uphill battle facing the No. 15 college football team in the country. Since the Flames have struggled and even lost against teams less skilled than themselves, the Rebels may hand Liberty its third loss of the season.

Liberty dominated last week, but it was against the worst team in college football. The fact that our defense let up so many points is embarrassing. I think if they play the same way at Ole Miss, the final score will be bad for the Flames.

Ole Miss is a daunting task for Liberty. Malik is the real deal and will keep this game respectable. However, Ole Miss will stay one step ahead of Liberty throughout the game, and will win this one pretty comfortably.
