Student Activities brought Dove Award-winning Christian rapper KB and pop artist gio to perform at Block Party in the LaHaye Parking Lot Aug. 29.
Junior Adalyn Faith and sophomore Aidan Abrams also sang at the event.
“The crowd brought so much energy, and it was awesome playing some of my own music to help celebrate the start of the semester,” Abrams said.
They were followed by Obehi the DJ, and KB closed the night, performing popular hits such as “Church Clap,” “King Jesus” and “10K.”
Students also enjoyed many attractions, including a bungee jump, Ferris wheel and other traditional carnival rides.
Several clubs and small businesses also tabled at the event. According to the president of Turning Point USA at Liberty, senior Sofia Kulik, approximately 900 students visited their table.
“The highlight of Block Party was seeing so many students eager to make a difference and contribute to something with lasting impact,” Kulik said.
The festivities included multiple food trucks serving ice cream, specialty coffee and fried food. Students also enjoyed playing competitive games such as cornhole and mini-golf.
Senior Catelyn Kirkwood shared her positive experience at Block Party.
“Block Party was a blast!” Kirkwood said.
According to Isaac Merrill, marketing coordinator for Student Activities, 7,850 students attended.
