Escape to the year-round winter wonderland at the Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre, where you can ski, snowboard and tube this winter. Whether you’re a seasoned winter athlete or a beginner taking lessons, Snowflex provides equipment rentals and experienced instructors. This alpine retreat on Liberty Mountain offers an adventurous escape against the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Visit Local Bookstore

Nothing says winter like embracing a good book, and in Lynchburg, there is an assortment of local bookstores to choose from. At Givens Books & Little Dickens, explore the many aisles and delve into the pages of a good book. With its multiple stories and cozy cafe, this Lynchburg bookstore offers a warm, literary escape. Bookshop on the Avenue, a local, Christian-owned bookstore in operation for over 30 years, also contains a variety of books ranging from timeless classics to the latest bestsellers.

Enjoy a Performance

This winter season, sit back, relax and enjoy  a good performance. From Feb. 16 to March 3, Liberty University’s Theatre Arts department presents “Titanic.” Gather with your friends, head to the Tower Theater and enjoy this classic. On Feb. 29, experience the enchantment of classical music by attending a recital by Liberty’s Symphony Orchestra at the Concert Hall in the Center for Music & the Worship Arts. 

Winter’s wonder will not last forever, so make the most of it while you can. These activities invite you to experience the joys of this season. If you can’t complete them all, that is okay.
