Liberty to host comedian Dustin Nickerson Sept. 23

Liberty University is once again welcoming comedian Dustin Nickerson on Sept. 23, 2022. Nickerson has performed on Comedy Central, Hulu, Fox, and Netflix alongside the actor and comedian Kevin Hart, and has been viewed over 20 million times.

One of the most highly rated comedy specials on Amazon Prime was his stand-up comedy special “Overwhelmed,” which was produced by the comedian, podcaster, and producer KevOnStage. That comedy special alone has received over 155,000 views on YouTube. Nickerson also recently published a book titled “How to Be Married (to Melissa),” where Nickerson takes a sincere and humorous approach to give insight into his 16-year marriage and advice on how to have a better relationship with your spouse.

Nickerson was first invited to perform at Liberty on Feb. 4, 2022, alongside comedian Aaron Weber.

“The feedback from last year’s show was exceptional,” Chris Knight, the event coordinator for Liberty University Student Activities said. “Students loved having Dustin Nickerson, so we brought him back for a second time. Dustin’s off-the-cuff humor is beloved by our students.”

Carissa Goettge, a sophomore student who attended Nickerson’s first comedy show at Liberty, said, “I went last semester (to the show), and I had a really great time. It was the first comedy show I ever went to, and I wasn’t disappointed because he was hilarious.”

Knight was asked why students should come to Nickerson’s comedy show, and he said, “Students should attend the comedy show because it is always great to have a break from studies to enjoy a little laughter. We encourage students to come to the comedy show because Dustin Nickerson puts on a great show.”

When asked what she hoped to gain from attending Nickerson’s show, Goettge said she wanted to have “a good time with friends and to have a good laugh. With all of the work and stress from school, it’s great to be able to go to a show and to have a good laugh with friends.”

The tickets for his upcoming show are on sale now at www.Liberty.edu/Concerts. The show will be held at Liberty University’s School of Music Concert Hall at 7:30 p.m., and the doors open at 6:30 p.m.
