Bindery & Finishing Options

• Cutting & Trimming is handled by our large industrial paper knife, which cleanly cuts through entire stacks of paper at once. This ensures precise edges, consistent sizing, and the ability to handle large jobs efficiently. Cutting is essential for trimming projects like flyers, postcards, and booklets to their final size, giving them a crisp, finished appearance.
• Die Cutting allows for custom shapes and specialty projects beyond standard rectangular cuts. Using our die cutter, we can create rounded corners, unique shapes, or intricate cutouts for pieces such as credentials, door hangers, promotional materials, and custom stickers. Die cutting adds creativity and impact to print projects, helping them stand out.
• Folding is performed using our high-speed folder, which can produce a variety of folds such as half folds, tri-folds, roll folds and gate folds. Folding adds a professional touch to brochures, pamphlets, newsletters, and marketing materials while making them easier to distribute and read. Consistent, precise folding ensures a clean and professional presentation.
• Perfect Binding creates professional, book-like publications by gluing collated pages into a wrap-around cover with a square spine. This durable option is excellent for long documents, including annual reports, student handbooks, training manuals, or commemorative booklets. The square spine also allows for titles and graphics to be printed, giving projects a polished, retail-quality finish.

• Saddle-Stitching involves folding sheets and stapling them along the spine to form a clean, flat booklet. It is a cost-effective method best suited for newsletters, brochures, event programs, or small catalogs up to approx. 34 physical pages, depending on paper thickness. The result is sleek and efficient, ideal for shorter publications.
• Spiral Binding uses a continuous plastic coil threaded through punched holes, allowing pages to rotate 360 degrees. This lay-flat design is perfect for manuals, workbooks, and study guides that need to stay open during use. Spiral binding is both durable and flexible, available in multiple coil sizes to accommodate documents of varying thickness.
• Stapling and Folding is the simplest finishing method, where pages are collated, folded if necessary, and stapled in the corner or along the edge. It is fast, budget-friendly, and highly practical, often used for class packets, quick guides, and other handouts that require quick turnaround and easy distribution.

If your materials will be seen by the public, they must align with Liberty University’s brand standards and be approved by Marketing. Review the Brand Guide and submit approvals through the Project Request Form on the Marketing Department webpage or contact your Marketing Project Coordinator for approval.
