Biography
Dr. Krysten P. Blackshear is a Houston, Texas–based social work educator and clinician with a Doctor of Social Work from Capella University, a Master of Social Work from Stephen F. Austin State University, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas. Her professional background includes hospice care, medical case management, community mental health, clinical practice, and social work education across BSW, MSW, and DSW programs. Her research interests include cultural humility, the integration of faith and clinical practice, and faith-informed approaches to grief and loss. In her free time, Dr. Krysten enjoys crawfish, football, and teaching youth and young adults about Jesus.
