Biography

Captain Richard Rogers is a native of Portland, ME. CPT Rogers enlisted in the United States Army in 2005. After serving ten years, CPT Rogers was commissioned through the Reserve Officer Training Corps from the University of Southern Maine in Portland, ME, in 2016.

CPT Rogers’ career as an organizational Leader has included the following assignments: Platoon Leader, 258th Military Police Company, 519th Military Police Battalion, Fort Polk, LA; Executive Officer, B Company, 1-58th Infantry Battalion, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; Commander, F Company, 2-10 Infantry Battalion, Fort Leonard Wood, MO; U.S. Advisor (Republic of Georgia), U.S. Army Security Assistance Training Management Organization, Fort Bragg, NC; S-1 OIC, Special Troops Battalion, Combined Arms Center, Fort Leavenworth, KS; and Commander, B Company, United States Disciplinary Barracks Battalion, Fort Leavenworth.

CPT Rogers’ military education includes the Military Police Captains Career Course, Military Police Basic Officer Leader Course, Unit Movement Officer Course, Antiterrorism Basic & Advanced Course, Conventional Physical Security/Crime Prevention Course, Police Transition Team Course, Systems Approach to Training Course, and Army Combatives Levels 1 & 2.

His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (6), Army Achievement Medal (12), Army Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Ribbon with three campaign stars, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Army Overseas Service Ribbon (4), and Combat Action Badge.

CPT Rogers is married to his wife, Courtney Rogers, for 18 years, and together they have three children: Neleh (daughter), Liam (son), and Zyan (son).
