SACSCOC – Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges

Liberty University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award associate, bachelor’s, master’s, educational specialist, and doctorate degrees, as well as certificates at approved degree levels. Institutional accreditation ensures that Liberty University has met strict standards with regard to educational programs, faculty, administration, academic and student support, and financial and physical resources. Accreditation also ensures that Liberty’s courses and degrees will be accepted by  institutions recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

As an accredited institution, Liberty University is eligible to participate in federal educational programs such as military tuition assistance, government tuition reimbursement programs, the GI Bill®, and corporate tuition assistance. Credits and degrees earned through Liberty are therefore recognized by private industry and by the federal government for promotion, assignment, and position qualification standards.

Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine (LUCOM) is accredited by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA), operating under authority granted to it by the U.S. Department of Education, to offer an academic program leading to the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
