In May, Liberty University sent eight Global Teams across the world to serve and share God’s love.
Destinations included Bolivia, Cameroon, Ethiopia, France/North Africa, Greece, Kosovo, Zimbabwe, and an undisclosed location in the Middle East.
During these short-term trips, hundreds of Liberty students and staff met needs as they built relationships. Many worked with immigrants, refugees, or children. Some provided counseling, teaching to locals, or administrative support for organizations or ministries. Other teams participated in sports camps, drama, AIDS/HIV education, literature distribution, Bible translation, and labor projects. In Kosovo, the team helped rebuild a village school and assisted a local bakery and agribusinesses.
Global Team coordinators also facilitated the donation of 16 laptop computers to meet community needs in Cameroon, Kosovo, and Ethiopia.
These trips allow students to experience new cultures as they reflect Christ’s love. Many find that the experience impacts them as much as it does the communities they invest in.
Global Teams are sent out during school breaks through Liberty’s Center for Global Engagement. The center provides resources for global awareness and multiple ways for students to get involved, including cross-cultural internships and academic programs such as a major or minor in Global Studies.
