From Jan. 22-24, students packed Liberty’s Vines Center and Thomas Road Baptist Church for a series of gatherings where they were encouraged to pray for spiritual renewal and revival in their own hearts, on campus, in their communities, and around the world. In addition, webcasts of these events were streamed live to Liberty University Online students through Online Communities, where interactive chat and prayer features connect them with the Liberty family.

For the fourth time since 2010, former NFL player Miles McPherson, now senior pastor of the Rock Church in San Diego, Calif., served as the week’s main speaker. Liberty’s Campus Band led praise and worship.

McPherson was the main speaker for Friday morning Convocation and special services held Wednesday and Thursday nights. He challenged students to deepen their personal relationship with Jesus Christ and rely on the Holy Spirit’s leading in their lives.

Students will be given many more chances to draw closer to God and grow in their faith during Convocation, held three times a week and featuring well-known pastors and authors, and during Campus Church.
