Center for Biblical Integration

The Center for Biblical Integration (CBI) exists to serve and support administration, faculty, and students in the pursuit of understanding the world through God’s Word. Biblical Worldview Integration (BWI) is a central commitment in Liberty University’s ethos, impacting both academic and non-academic capacities.

BWI can be simply defined as “biblical principles permeate everything.” Christian thinkers don’t put God into their subjects – He is already there. The Trinitarian Godhead has created all things and holds all things together (Colossians 1:15-20).

Services for Faculty & Staff

Presentations

Liberty University’s schools, colleges, and departments can request Biblical Worldview Integration (BWI) presentations (in person or online) for faculty and staff that are specific to their areas of focus. Residential faculty and staff can request presentations on BWI for students in their classes or extracurricular organizations.

Teaching Support

CBI supports both residential and online faculty with the tools and resources needed to effectively integrate biblical principles into their instruction – like our Christian Professors Project videos. The Center assists with infusing God’s Word into lectures, course announcements, assignment feedback, and presentations. Its goal is to foster student engagement, promote clear communication, and support Christ-centered teaching that nurtures both spiritual and academic growth.

Course Design

CBI assists faculty in areas of course design to develop clear, biblically grounded course goals, create meaningful assignments that foster critical thinking through a Christian perspective, and implement assessments that seamlessly integrate Scripture with scholarship.

Early Career Training

All new residential and online faculty receive training in BWI to ensure that courses are taught through the lens of Scripture. Offered live in-person and online, these trainings offer instructional strategies, address institutional expectations, and provide resources to promote a Christ-centered learning environment.

Services for Students

Student Consultations

Students can request consultations with CBI for BWI support in specific classes and assignments.

Classroom Presentations

Faculty and staff can request classroom presentations on BWI for their students.

The Christian Professors Project

Liberty’s Center for Biblical Integration (CBI) partnered with the International Alliance for Christian Education (IACE) and the Colson Center on the Christian Professors Project. This project examines the integration of Christian faith across different areas of study in higher education.

How does your Christian faith interpret your discipline? In what ways does it impact your methodologies and approaches? The Christian Professors Project has created the following resources to help you answer these questions. The video series provides specific, immediately applicable ideas of how you can think and teach distinctively in the realm of higher education as Christians.

Video Series

Below you will find our collection of instructional and inspiring videos. The Christian Professors Project series is available for free to Liberty professors and faculty as well as any interested Christian educator and institution across the world.
