Overview:

Over the years, the American church has become consumer driven.
We find ourselves preoccupied with the things that do not matter in place of the One who does matter: Jesus.
The church should be solely concerned with whether or not we are talking about our love for Him.
We should have an obsessive love for Christ to the point that our focus is only on Him.
What God wants from His church is devoted worshipers; a generation of people who long for His presence wherever they are and whomever they are with.
He desires people who, out of love for Him, will love each other and be unified.
God desires for His church to be unified and have intimacy with each other in the same way He and Jesus have intimacy.
It is through this intimacy and unity that the world will know that Jesus is the Messiah.
When we have intimacy with each other, the power of the Holy Spirit will manifest.
We will find ourselves transformed into the people God wants us to be; going to the ends of the earth to be witnesses for Him.
God’s desire for His church is that we would be obsessed only with Him and nothing and no one else.

Verses:

Revelation 4:8

“And the four living creatures, each of them with six wings, are full of eyes all around and within, and day and night they never cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!”

Philippians 1:27-28

“Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel, and not frightened in anything by your opponents. This is a clear sign to them of their destruction, but of your salvation, and that from God.”

Ephesians 4:11-14

“And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.”

1 John 3:4-10

“Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother.”

Ephesians 3:14-21

“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

Quotes:

“Lord may there be an unstoppable force of Your Spirit within these students that drives them to be more like You”
“You know when someone is in love, it is all they can talk about. My concern is I don’t hear people talking about their love for Jesus that way.”
“Can we seriously just have a posture of surrender to Jesus.”
“God desires that we the Church are in complete unity so that the World will believe that Jesus is the Messiah”
“Our unity is a sure sign to the lost, of their destruction and our salvation.”
“What if it was all up to us (Liberty) to reach every lost person in the world, what would our lives look like?”
“When we talk about being the Church of the Bible, know that there will be suffering but isn’t that what you want, to follow Jesus with everything in you?”
