On March 6-7, medical professionals and students are invited to gather on Liberty University’s campus for the Remedy East 2026 conference, held in partnership with the Christian Medical and Dental Associations, to discuss ways they can serve their patients and communities through a missional mindset.
The Remedy conference is open to students and professionals in all medical fields, including behavioral health. Three continuing education credits will be available to attendees.
The theme of the event, “Beautiful Feet,” is based on Romans 10:15: “And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’”
“From the beginning, Remedy’s purpose has been to encourage students and professionals in various fields of healthcare to pursue missional living in their daily lives,” said Dr. Russell Melton, Liberty University College of Osteopathic Medicine assistant professor of family medicine and CMDA Remedy Planning Committee member. “We pray the Lord will use this time to build His Kingdom and use His people to share His Good News to those here in Lynchburg and around the world.”
The conference will feature five plenary speakers: Echo and Harry VanderWal, founders of the faith-based health and development institution The Luke Commission; Dr. John G. Pierce Jr., vice president of missions and medical education at the CMDA and chair of women’s health at LUCOM; Dr. Dana Woody, Liberty University School of Nursing professor; Dr. James Anderson, retired doctor, professor, and U.S. Army Medical Reserves veteran; and Dr. Paul Hudson, a physician and epidemiologist with SIM.

Over 14 exhibitors will present ways to enter into missional living, and representatives from organizations like Samaritan’s Purse, MedSend, and Medical Education International will be on hand to speak with conference attendees.
The event will take place primarily in the Montview Student Union, Alumni Ballroom with classrooms in the adjoining DeMoss Hall serving as breakout spaces.
The conference is open to all undergraduate students, graduate students, trainees, and healthcare professionals from Central Virginia and beyond. The cost for students and trainees is $25; general admission is $75. Register at Remedy.cmda.org.
