Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre hosted the Dew Games on April 10, attracting one of the largest crowds since the year-round ski slope opened in August 2009.
The ski and snowboard big air and rail jam competition was sponsored by Mountain Dew, Pepsi, AMP and FUSE Marketing and included more than 60 participants who competed for $5,000 in cash prizes.
According to Drew Sherwood, general manager for Snowflex, more than 3,000 people came to cheer on the participants, “a mixture of skiers and snowboarders from all over.” Several traveled from Vermont, Ohio, North Carolina, Maryland and Tennessee. Professional snowboarder Kier Dillon was also in attendance.
Several members of LU’s own freestyle ski and snowboarding club team took home awards.
