Nestled in downtown Lynchburg, a building from the 1800s has been reborn as an innovative business named Add Logo.
Despite its recent opening in November 2021, Add Logo has already become quite popular within the community.
Add Logo, a coworking space, offers a place perfect for artists, entrepreneurs and everyone in between to work. Behind a striking red and black exterior, it fosters a community of both novices and experts to expand their skills.
“It’s more than just a physical space,” Jarad Hagner, founder of Add Logo, said. “What we’re working to develop is a community of experts and novices in the same incubator and really try(ing) to create a sense of community and mentorship and collaboration. We really want people to get off their screens and connect with one another again.”
Hagner traces the inspiration for Add Logo back to a conversation with his friend Tyler Falwell two years ago. While in the process of purchasing the building for Add Logo, Falwell remembered a restaurant that also offered a place to work.
Coworking spaces have grown in popularity during recent years. They are especially popular among creatives and freelancers who may not have a dedicated place to go to do their work otherwise.
Add Logo wants to do more than just offer a space to be productive, though.
Part of Hagner’s goal for starting Add Logo was to “bring the world to Lynchburg.” One way he plans to reach this goal is through a series of workshops geared towards young professionals and entrepreneurs.
“We’re going to open up the books and have some real conversations,” Hagner said regarding future workshops.
Add Logo’s creators wanted to establish the “next generation of a community center.” Everything about Add Logo is designed to best serve the community it seeks to build, down to the layout of the building. Natalie Gross, Add Logo’s executive director, describes how one floor is dedicated to offices and another floor with an open-concept design is ideal for conferences and networking.
A notable feature of Add Logo is its podcast studio. Clients can record their podcasts or other audio clips and Add Logo employees will produce and edit them.
“We want to invite the community members to come and use the space we have,” Gross said. “We’ve had some really good feedback from the community, and I’m excited for the events to start kicking off after the holidays.”
Add Logo also offers 24/7 access to its coworking spaces and reservable conference rooms for its members. Currently, Add Logo is open to creative Liberty students who need an internship in the digital media field. Add Logo provides audio, video and web design services to its customers and offers internship positions to students interested in working in those fields.
Besides internships, Add Logo also accepts students in need of CSER credit. Many of the founding members of Add Logo, including Gross, graduated from Liberty.
