Town Hall
The purpose of a Town Hall event is to gather students, faculty, and staff to actively participate in Q&A and dialogue about matters that shape our campus community. This event is hosted by the Dean of Students in collaboration with the Student Government Association at Liberty University. The Town Hall serves as a platform for Liberty University administration to share updates, initiatives, and important information, while also fostering an environment for attendees to express their thoughts, concerns, and ideas. Through this collaborative exchange, we aim to promote transparency, strengthen community bonds, and work collectively toward enhancing the student experience at Liberty University. Your voice matters, and we invite you to be a part of these empowering conversations as we impact the future of our institution.
Town Hall Guidelines:
- Adherence to university values: Attendees should adhere to the values of Liberty University, including demonstrating biblical character in any speech or action
- Respectful behavior: Attendees should behave respectfully toward each other and the university’s administrators. This includes using appropriate and respectful language (i.e., no derogatory or offensive comments) and refraining from interrupting others.
- Time management: To respect everyone’s time during the open mic segment, there will be a one-minute allotment for each person at the microphone. Only one question is permitted; rebuttals or follow-up questions will not be permitted. To be fair to all, each participant will only speak once. Grandstanding will not be permitted.
- Preparedness: Each open mic participant should research their topic beforehand and be prepared to ask their questions clearly and succinctly.
- Cooperation: Attendees should cooperate with the organizers to ensure the event runs smoothly.
Note: Failure to abide by these guidelines will forfeit participation in the town hall event and may result in the offending participant being reported to Community Life for disciplinary action.
