Motor Vehicle Theft – (*Note – this includes anything with a motor (i.e. motorized scooters, motorized skateboards, etc.)
This alert is being sent in accordance with the Jeanne Clery Act, as this incident represents a Clery Act crime that occurred on Clery Act geography and poses a serious or continuing threat to the campus community.
On 02/23/2024 at 1110 hours, an LU Student noticed their electric scooter was missing from the bike rack outside of the LaHaye Student Union. The student stated their scooter was unsecured and was only left unattended for approximately 20 minutes. No active leads or suspects at this time
On 02/23/2024 at 1907 hours, an LU Student noticed their electric scooter was missing from the sidewalk outside of the LaHaye Student Union. The student stated their scooter was unsecured. No active leads or suspects at this time.
If you are in immediate danger, call Liberty University Police Department at 434-592-3911 or call 9-1-1. Criminal incidents can be reported to Liberty University Campus Security Authorities (CSAs) who are designated, trained, and mandatory reporters under the Clery Act when victims chose not to report to law enforcement.
Be sure to lock up your vehicles, including all electric scooter and skateboards, residential hall rooms, and offices when you leave. Remove any valuables from sight or take them with you when you leave. Never leave keys or means to access your vehicle within the vehicle.
